Astrocartography

What is Astrocartography?

What is all the hoopla about astrocartography, you might be asking?

Well, you know how people often advise those who are unhappy with their lives to “get out of town” or to move or travel to a different location?

Or people that don’t “click” with where they live, they do not feel they belong.

“I’m sick of this place. Nothing good has happened to me here, apart from stress”

Simply put, Astrocartography locates the best places to go depending on the time of day, month, year, am or pm, and location of your birth.

One-Eyed Willy’s Map

Remember One-Eyed Willy’s map in the Goonies?

The map that took seven kids on an adventure to find Willy’s treasure. Growing up, I dreamed of one day discovering such a map in the attic I never had.

It wasn’t until I was in adulthood that I discovered my own One-eyed Willy’s map where a simple glance helped me locate where I will be most productive, relocate, and potentially have financial success (allegedly).

But everyone has the own person map where they to can find all the above and more. Like wheres best to find a soul mate? Find the perfect career? Where will I be blocked and restricted?

The map I speak of is called Astrocartography.

Astrocartography is associated with where you want to travel and where you want to live.

“The best country to travel”

“The best city to live!”

In light of the widespread uncertainty caused by the pandemic, relocation astrology has gained popularity. Furthermore, the surge in living costs has many people hunting for the ideal spot to call home. Whereas, they once might have simply looked for a “good” area to vacation.

How does Astrocartography work?

Are you familiar with your horoscope? Which is Sun sign in astrology.

Sun sign astrologers follow the movement of the sun as it enters a new sign once a month, whereas astromapping/astromartography/relocation astrology focuses solely on the planet.

Each planet represents a different energy force and particular themes.

It is said that if you go to any planetary line in your chart you should feel that energy and you will experience the themes of said planet.

It sounds like New Age, unrealistic hype, but it’s worth paying attention to if you can’t seem to escape the feeling that everything where you live or where you have visited “isn’t your place” or is your favourite country.

Other Benefits

However, if you are a student of astrology, visiting each line and planet in zenith is like learning astrology through action rather than words. Learning astrology through astro*carto*graphy becomes more personable. You’ll understand the symbols in the sky more because you are experiencing the interpretations in your everyday life.

You will need to be within about a 12-hour drive to feel the energy of a planetary line. However, the energy of a MC Zenith line is much stronger, so if you don’t want to be affected by it, you’ll need to put more distance between yourself and the line..

Barefoot Astrologer

Who invented Astro*Carto*Graphy?

A native New Yorker, Jim Lewis invented and trademarked astro*carto*graphy in the late 1970s. Using detailed maps and modern software, Lewis expanded an old niche field of location astrology, which had been around since the 1st century.

Lewis projected lines onto the map of the world and believed that the position of planets location had an influence on people’s lives.

His system of mapping these energies onto a map, was called astro*carto*graphy. Lewis did not visit all of the places he wrote about in his astro*carto*graphy book, but he did travel extensively after he wrote the book up until his death in his 50s.

His research included studying the Queen’s A*C*G lines.

“In the mid ‘80s [Lewis] was struck by a vehicle while crossing Military Road, in Sydney, Australia on his Mars Ascending line.”

Robert Currey

Nevertheless, he was an avid traveler and explorer who visited many countries around the world, including Australia; living on a small Caribbean island; but mainly Jim lived in California.

Before contracting H.I.V and then A.I.D.S he also traveled extensively in Europe and North America. His travels helped him gain insight into different cultures and beliefs, which he incorporated into his astrocartography work.
