Astrocartography

North Node MC line in Astrocartography

I’m not going to lie, I’ve never been to anywhere quite like Glastonbury.

It is a town that keeps pagan and new-age traditions alive, but on steroids.

Kind of like what you imagine Salam to be like or the town in the Love Witch movie. I believe the town is in Arcata, California, and in the movie the place tolerates witchcraft.

Glastonbury isn’t dark or evil per-say, although I did see a dead rat, dried out, where the household bags were being thrown out. I did wonder if it had died because of the heat or was it used in a ritual.

No, no, Glastonbury isn’t that kind of town. It’s more like the town that draws people who believe in the tooth fairies.

The Types of People You Find at Glastonbury

There where three groups of people at Glastonbury

1. The shop owners and Priest etc,

2. The residents

3. And the visitors.

The residents reminded me of the old set of residents at a co-op living I once applied to.

I had applied because it was near my university and the London rental market is a big joke.

Anyway, there was a younger set of tenants and an older set.

The younger lived there to save money, although they all seemed to come from middle-class families.

Then there was the older lot. These set of residents had lived in the co-op for years, perhaps since the 80’s. And let’s say they were the type that liked to finish the night with a little rum and coke- wink, wink.

What is Astrocartography

Astrocartography is typically associated with where you want to travel or where you want to live.

“The best country to travel” “The best city to live!”

And near where my North Node line is, the town is known for its music festival, for being a spiritual hub, and for having a sacred site.

I had always wanted to go to Glastonbury Festival before it became mainstream. But, I ended up going because of curiosity about my NN line running through it and being that I live in London

One other noticeable thing about going to my north node line in both Stonehenge and Glastonbury was getting lost and having a delay in getting there or getting back.

I was unable to find my way; I did not know my whereabouts.

To be fair I always get lost 🙈😅

Pilgrimages

A pilgrimage is a sacred journey, undertaken for a spiritual purpose. Pilgrims are different from tourists: they travel for spiritual reasons, not just to relax or for fun. Pilgrimage is a search for meaning, purpose, values or truth (and in this sense, like life). www.cumbria.gov.uk

Wicca, Costumes, Fairy Dust, & Spirituality

Glastonbury felt to me like I had stepped into a portal, and when I stepped out of it, the place I arrived at was very childlike and free.

The people there (shop owners, I presume) were more like characters at a dress rehearsal getting ready to go on stage.

Not only were the store owners dressed up, but so many tourists donned Midsommar Flower Crowns.

Legend has it that crown flower and herbs picked on the summer solstice have magical properties.

These people were brave. I know most of them must have watched the movie, and despite the maypole and the crowning of the May Queen being deadly, they still wore it none the less.

Both the woman on the Strength Tarot card (Leo) and the visitors to Stonehenge wore clothes quite similar to what I witnessed.

However, when I went to Glastonbury, it wasn’t the summer solstice nor was it May Day.

Although Glastonbury was celebrating a thing called “Pilgrimage Day.”

The event consisted of a preacher and a mass of people that had congregated from the abbey grounds for the Solemn Concelebrated Mass. They did the healing sacraments of anointing and confessions followed by a procession of the Blessed Sacrament from St John’s Church, through the High Street, to the Abbey for solemn Benediction.

Performative and How to Get There?

In all seriousness, it was like some of the people there had not “grown up.” Like they still believed fairies existed, and they had to be nice that year to get on Santa’s good list.

It felt like a performance. Like it was done to entertain the tourists.

Glastonbury, had somehow managed commercialised the “new age.” Saying that Glastonbury is not overcommercialised as only a very few large coaches visit.

I would advise anyone visiting to combine their trip with Stonehenge if possible. Perhaps staying overnight and then adding Bath to your itinerary.

There are plenty of camping options as well as B&B’S.

The quickest but most expensive option to Glastonbury is by train from London’s Paddington Station to Castle Cary, approximately 1½ hours. It is then a fairly lengthy and expensive taxi ride (best pre booked) of about 25 minutes to Glastonbury.

Not many people visit Glastonbury bar visiting the music festival, where there is a direct bus service. Depending on where you are coming from, you will have to take a local bus in addition to a National express bus.

The sign and location of my NN

I should tell you now that my North node is the playful sign of Leo, and my north node conjuncts the MC from the 9th house (placidus chart).

Leo is the most performative sign after Pisces. Leo likes to show off. They like people looking at them. But what does this have to do with where I need to work on and develop to achieve inner balance and fulfilment in this lifetime?

Am I meant to show off?

Am I meant to be seen?

Well, my NN conjuncts the MC, the most visible part of the chart.

Perhaps my NN is reminding me about the journey of life? I am here for a spiritual reason, but also to have some fun.

Most memorable, though, were the ‘new age’, mystic shops, and the hippy-like characters who have made Glastonbury their home.

Although the locals were a little hard to understand, I have heard Somerset accents before, but when visiting, it was like some residents were speaking a foreign language.
