Casablanca, Morocco- Astrocatography

Morocco is one of three of eight countries I need to visit to change the course of my life forever.

Okay, maybe that is slightly dramatic, but I need to face things ahead to bring some balance into my life.

The other two countries that make up part of this trilogy is a country located in Asia, and a little island in the South Pacific.

I will be visiting them and other countries in the up coming post.

So you might be asking, What’s in Casablanca?

“I CAME TO CASABLANCA FOR THE WATERS.” Warner Bros. Pictures

Apparently Morocco (well near Morocco) is where I need to be to experience passion, adventure, drive, competition, aggression, and action.

It’s a place where my Mars is in his Peak, Mars in MC.

The MC marks the highest part of your sky is said to be your “public persona,” and your ego, as it influences your reputation, status in society, and success in your chosen field.

Yes, this may sound like an odd way to travel, but I think not.

Traveling is based on what we want to experience; that’s how we all travel. So, what if my map is slightly different?

Anyway, here I am in Casablanca, which reminds me of Alexandria in Egypt.

The Film

The only reference I have to Casablanca is the movie.

I’ve never quite understood the appeal of the film.

I rented it years ago at my university library, and it should’ve been the type of movie that I would’ve adored. I love classics and old Hollywood. But for some reason, I couldn’t connect to the film, perhaps because I’m not a fan of Humphrey Bogart.

I do not understand his appeal.

When Bogart lights a cigarette on the screen,’ the article stated, ‘girls respond with big, sexy sighs.’ Asked about the object of their affection, a Radcliffe student lamented the Age of Analysis: ‘Bogie is everything we wish Harvard men were,’ she said. ‘Bogie’s direct and honest. He gets involved with his women but he doesn’t go through an identity crisis every five minutes.’

But I have to admit that I’ve now become quite obsessed with trying to understand why Casablanca is one of the most popular movies of all time.

All I can think of the film is that it’s very quotable and atmospheric, and the music is a masterpiece.

Funnily enough, I could not have made the next part up, even though I tried.

When I was reading an Astrocartography book, it mentioned what I’d experience if I traveled to Mars at his peak (MC), and I quote

“At times you will feel that your life script is playing out like one of Humphrey Bogart’s movies.”

Jim Lewis

Although there’s no mention of any particular Bogart movie, it’s strange because now in the city connected to his most famous movie.

How funny is that?

Life on Mars!

But when I think about the depiction of planet Mars on the big screen, I think of it being somewhere unbearably hot and of red sandstone formations like in Total Recall, which was a futuristic sci-fi based on Philip K. Dick’s short story.

Total Recall tells the story of Douglas Quaid, played by Arnold Schwarzenegger, who receives an implanted memory of a fantastical adventure on Mars.

But Quaid is unsure if the adventure is real or not.

Back to the Movie

Whereas Casablanca is a black and white film set during World War II.

During WWII, the city of Casablanca was used as a destination for people to escape the war in Europe, but many got stuck there.

And that’s where we meet an American called Rick, who owns a café/nightclub in Casablanca. And on one night, his old flame “walks into the joint.”

The trouble is, she’s married.

Casablanca, as time goes by Warner Bros. Pictures

Love, war, escape, and sacrifice all come to my mind, as well as the past revisited.

Anyway, the city of Casablanca is not exactly close to where I need to go, but nevertheless, this is where this part of the journey begins in Casablanca, Morocco.
