What is the 8th House?

What is the 8th house?

The 8th house is a place where you deal with things you are most afraid of. This is the house of  death (endings), and taxes. The house where you  psychoanalyze your life.

In the 8th house, taboo themes may be found. Things that people would rather not go into. However, in the 8th house, you must do just that.

Dig deeper to completely understand what is truly going on under the surface.

It is in this house that you will  find your biggest challenges!

When attempting to understand this house, you must first take into consideration the opposing house to the eighth house. The opposing house to the eighth is the second house, a place where you’ll find money. And the money earned in the 2nd house is gained through your own means i.e. make your own money.

Whereas the eighth house is where you’ll find taxes, and other people’s money, i.e. free money. Pay-outs, welfare. As well as, inheritance, grants, loans, and debt can also be seen in the 8th house.

Sex

The second house is connected to your senses whereas the eighth house refers to other people’s sensations.

The 8th house sensations bring about nervous emotions. For example, when you have sex for the first time, it can be an exhilarating feeling yet coupled with trepidation.

Your thoughts may become painful after a sexual experience. You examine your intentions and consider what the other person is experiencing and contemplating after sex. Does the other person respect you? Should you have waited?

Have you treated yourself well after having a sexual relationship with another person? Sex can pose a moral problem, which can elicit feelings of guilt, humiliation, and regret.

As soon as we start commitments, the eighth house appears (seventh house). But today, intercourse is permitted before getting married in the west. What’s more, following a sexual encounter, other difficulties tend to arise (eighth house issues). Power battles will be the most problematic aspect of your relationships in this location.

Eighth-house issues like money and intimacy will be key flashpoints during any power battles you have with a spouse. Intimacy is used as a weapon. Sex becomes a negotiating chip.

Withholding sex is more common among those with an active eighth house when it comes to bargaining with partners. In terms of morality, sex could be viewed as dirty, to only be performed for the sake of reproducing.

Thus, waiting until marriage People (or their spouses) born under the 8th house often feel taken advantage of. Feel used for sexual purposes, used to make money, or if a spouse is used to have a kid.

For those who have never been in a relationship long enough to experience the power conflicts already described, the eighth house will not be about sex. The eighth house, on the other hand, will focus more on psychological, mystical, and life-changing topics for such individuals.

Death

In truth, the 8th house is the house of endings!

Things will drastically end, which will make you question what the purpose of it all was. Thus, it’s best to use this house to research things you don’t fully understand.

Think of this house as a cemetery. Dirt, shovels, obituaries on headstones with procession of mourners crying;

Why has a loved one been taken so soon?

Burying and or visiting someone in a cemetery can be a painful experience. At the same time grave sites can bring solace to grieving individuals, because they have a safe place to dump their feelings.

Similarly, the 8th house is where you bury your trauma and hide secrets like rape and manipulation.

The 8th house is also a psychological area of your chart.  When you think about people visiting a cemetery, after the initial crying, mourners sit there and talk to the gravestone. We sit and tell the deceased what is going on in our lives.

What we wish we could have done while they were still living is what we tell the departed.

We ope up, and although it might sound and seem crazy to talk to somebody who is not physically there, it is a cathartic process.

Similarly, the eighth house is where you need to release pent-up tension!

Therapy

Despite the graveyard analogy, a more positive interpretation of the eighth house, is to view it as a therapy room.

Thus, it’s a house full of your secrets or unexplored emotions. Feelings which overwhelm and restricts you from living a meaningful life.

You uncover your secrets and emotions and then release after investigation. Forgive those who have wronged you, and forgive yourself for your sins.

And this is how you become truly empowered, first by being aware of what lies deep beneath the surface. Then you face it. Learn how to forgive yourself by accepting your past, faults, and excepting the shadow part of yourself.

The sign governing the 8th house (along with the position of natal Pluto) will give you a clue of how to transform your life. And where your biggest transformations will take place.

When there are planets in the eighth house, you can rely on handouts such as your partner’s money, money from inheritance or government. You experience many setbacks but bounce back in a phenomenal fashion that leaves everyone stunned.
