The Numerology of the number 4

The number four has many connotations. Firstly, it became attached to the theory of the four elements sometime around 450 BCE because of philosopher Aristotle.

He said:

All life and all matter is formed from one or more of four elements- fire, earth, air, and water.

There are four seasons as well as four cardinal directions (North, East, South, and West). Thus, number four manifests itself as a number associated with the environment. As a result, the number four has a natural relationship with “earth” and creation.

4 in Astrology

In astrology, number 4 rules roots, family, home, and private life in astrology. Heritage, land, and property. These words suggest ownership, belonging, building, and the earth (ground), which are prevalent in watery Cancerians’ 4th house.

Nonetheless, there is always a correlation between the opposing sign in astrology. Therefore, when looking at the sign opposing Cancer it turns out to be an Earth sign, Capricorn. The grounded builder of the zodiac; the old goat (sea-goat).

Capricorn may be the sign of a builder, of an achiever, a pessimist, but the tropes of land and property do not lend themselves to Capricorns section of the chart; the 10th plot (house).

Squared

Number interpretations are also formed (for the most part) on shapes; therefore, number four is seen as a hard number because of the hard angles seen in the shape of a square.

A square looks robust, reliable, structured i.e., it is the most unlikely of all the shapes to collapse because of its four equal straight sides and four right angles.

When we think of a square, we think of stability, conventional, physical limitations, hard labor, and a number that relates to the building.

Similarly, because we use the word “square” (the shape of number four) to also describe an area that surrounds buildings- number four (generally and in astrology) is seen as a number concerned with structure, foundations, territory.

So, what does the number four imply?

The type of people seen to be a number four are skilled laborers. Militia, business tycoons, interior designers, wannabe actors. However, 4’s can take on regular 9-5 jobs. Furthermore, 4’s are typically workaholics, taking on too much.

As a result, 4’s quickly tire because they are exhausted from all the work they undertake. Similarly, A four-numerology year can grant a period of rest, followed by an uprising or the other way around.

4’s main aim for stability. There is a focus on their home and wealth, which is why they are relentless when it comes to working. They understand or will understand to maintain a house, wealth, alongside providing for their family material gains are needed. Unfortunately, as a result of their desire for security, life can feel very heavy.

Number 4’s have the most insecurities (as seen in their need to be secure and stable.) Although they can become recognized they will only do it via hard work. Most typically, recognition is granted when they do something out of necessity.

If you are a number four, you will need to work on

The number four shows that healing must take place, sorting out emotional issues stemming from one’s upbringing, feelings of insecurity, and healing because there is an ability to tune into other emotions. Typically, 4’s are introverts, homebodies, or those needing renewal and gain clarity at home.

  • Connectedness
  • Sharing
  • Understanding
  • Psychic/Telepathic Bonds while remaining grounded
  • Affinity

However, if you want to get a grip on number four, you must become more organized. Plan, prepare, and meet deadlines. Gain self-control. Know your limitations, and don’t be afraid to ask for help.

4 as a Master number

Four can also make up four ones (1111) or two twos’ (22) number. However, number four is not a master number. Nonetheless, four is a doubling number- two sets of twins, a quadruple. It is trouble four times over. Although number four is not considered a master, number twenty-two is part of that master group.

Number four as a date

So, when using the number four to breakdown a period in history, the numerology meaning of number four can be used to ascribe to the definitions of that year, day, or week. Thus, the fourth day or a fourth-year can be a day or year of limitations, hibernation, or a time to spend with family in your private sphere, a.k.a. your home.

It can also be a time of nationhood. Number four at the year indicates building upon the previous year or building from structures (habits) that no longer work.

Number 4 resonates with the basic actions and processes we do as a collective. The steps, emotions, and connectivity needed to allow us all to coexist. Although it may be “basic,” thus, it should come naturally to us because we have been doing what we have always done for so long it is hard to do anything else.

We cling to our roots, to our traditions, and the past. Thus, what should be simple becomes hard work, and a lot more effort is needed to achieve our basic needs -our human rights.

Nevertheless, there are many interpretations of the number four because there are different methods of applying numerology.

Year four in numerology (for the collective)

In numerology, the number four for us “collectively” indicates that this is a time when we feel burdened by our responsibilities, but we must lessen the burden of responsibility on ourselves. Although things are heavy and options are limited, self-reflection is called upon.

Year number four makes us focus on the here and now; each moment is precious. However, this can be a lonely and isolating time. Our family relies on us in ways unimaginable, which may be the cause of our burdens. Whatever the cause of our burdens and responsibilities, we will get a chance and opportunity to connect to our national identity by pulling together.

This year we are asked to formulate a strategy, to think about why we are collectively doing what we are doing and have been doing for many generations. Because the number four is associated with the four seasons, we will be reflecting upon environmental issues and how the world at large has contributed to not protecting the planet. Similarly, our differences in terms of different backgrounds and treating people as if they are property rather than being simply human must be internalised.

Nonetheless, we can come together to build a better world for ourselves and for our children’s children. If we do not come together and see a similarity, the dilemma in which humankind finds itself will grow into a sense of rootlessness. Thus, the belief in separatism could see a rise in opportunism, materialism, and violence spread through our nations.

Numerology year four, which occurs every nine years, will ask us to come together and bond as a group to see one another as family. To build stronger foundations collectively Thus, we can feel an increased commitment and responsibility to one another. Once we feel an emotional shift to connect, to grow, to internalise our behaviour towards one another, that is when we can begin the process of nurturing each other’s needs rather than nurturing ourselves and the people who are most like us.

In astrology, number four is:

In astrology, the fourth plot/area (house) in a chart is located at the bottom of the chart. It is the foundation of an astrological chart. The fourth plot (the house) is about privacy, being inside (your home), family and domestic life, national identity, and getting back to your roots.

Surprisingly, the north node bearer of obsessions and traits to develop was still in Cancer in late 2018. Cancer is, of course, the sign in astrology that naturally governs the fourth plot. That’s right, an area of our chart concerned with being indoors and being with one’s family was housing the north node, whose mission is to get us where we need to be in the quickest time possible. And where we needed to be based on the location of NN would have been to quickly get us indoors, to spend time with our family, or reconnect with our property, or national identity.

So, 2020 lived up to number 4 and the NN in astrology and gave us an opportunity to be indoors and to build upon our relationships with our family in the quickest time possible (seen with the North node in Cancer). We had a chance to connect with our nation, to do things at home that we had been putting off. to be a bit more private. And to build upon something that can be done at home.
