Who is Jeannie Mai?

Jeannie Mai is known for her work in the entertainment business as a TV personality and fashion expert. She was born in San Jose, California, on January 4, 1979. 

Jeannie started her career as a makeup artist and stylist.

Later, she became a TV host and gave fashion advice. 

I first heard of her when she was the co-host of The Real. 

“I loved Black guys, but for me, dark meat on the side, white [meat] keeps me mean and lean. I used to date Black men, I think they’re attractive. But what I decided to stick to is, because it just kept me happiest, was my man Freddy who happens to be white”

After a quick Google search, I found out that Freddy Harteis is “a television producer, outdoorsman, and professional hunter”, and I already knew he was Jeannie Mai’s first husband. 

They got married in 2007, but unfortunately, they split up in 2018 and divorced in 2019. 

She had to pay him alimony. 

Freddy, along with two other hosts husbands, would often appear as guest hosts on The Real Talk Show. 

While all the ladies said embarrassing things about their spouses, Jeannie (in my personal opinion) seemed hellbent on disrespecting her husband. 

That aside, when she was with Freddy, Jeannie was adamant that she never wanted children. 

Who is Jeezy?

Jeannie Mai met Jeezy, whose real name is Jay Wayne Jenkins, through people who knew both of them. Jeezy is a rapper and business owner. 

He was born on September 28, 1977, in Columbia, South Carolina, USA.

I had heard of him but never knew too much about him. I thought he was from Atlanta before deciding to do this reading. 

But he is well-known for his work in hip-hop music, and over the years he has put out a number of hit albums. 

The timeline of their love story

The pair met in 2018, and in April 2020, they got engaged (less than a year after her divorce was finalized). 

The couple married not long after the death of Jeezy’s mother in spring 2021. 

In January 2022, Jeannie gave birth to their first child (his fourth). 

“The marriage of the parties is irretrievably broken” and “there is no hope for reconciliation.”

Jeezy started the divorce proceedings in June 2023.

However, the paperwork was made public or filed in September 2023, claiming “the marriage of the parties is irretrievably broken” and “there is no hope for reconciliation.”

Both Jeannie’s and Jeezy’s times of birth are unknown, but if she was born in California, I do believe it is easy to get confirmation of her time and date of birth. 

Anyway, I had always thought Jeannie was an Aquarius because her former co-host had said Jeannie was an Aquarius like the talk host’s husband, Vince. 

Furthermore, Jeannie never corrected her on air, and Jeannie’s fashion and dyed hair were very Aquarian, but I realized she was copying her mother’s style (not sure what Mama Mai’s sun, moon, or rising sign is). 

After that host left, Jeannie said she was a Capricorn. 

His Star Sign

Jeezy is the air sign of Libra.

But the sun hates being in people-pleaser, Libra.

Plus, the ruler of Libra is Venus, and Venus is unhappy in Virgo in his chart.

When operating negatively, Librans are users, selfish, and vain. And Capricorns (Jeanine) are driven too much by their goals and status (some Caps can be very materialistic, not to mention need to be in the spotlight—the public eye). 

🚩 Secondly, her sun in Capricorn is very close to (conjunct) her Mars, and his sun conjuncts his Pluto.  

I already see red flags on this alone.

Why?

Jeannie’s sun is in the earth sign Capricorn, but because it is so close to planet Mars (fighter), this foretells someone assertive yet competitive with anger issues, which she has admitted to in the past. 

She has high standards and gets upset when they are not met. 

Her sun is making a connection known as a square to her Pluto, indicating she has self-destructive behavior and is controlling.

But being an earth sign, she is scared of change.

As for him, since his Pluto (the eliminator) is very close to his sun, he may be very controlling, and people with this placement in Libra like to control their relationships.

She would have struggled to tolerate this behavior, although her chart shows she too is controlling.

Furthermore, Capricorns (Jeannie) are moaners who try to play it cool, and Librans (Jeezy) is a naturally neutral person, thus not siding with the moaner (i.e., Capricorn).

She was attracted to him and his status, but there was love present. Venus is the planet of love & money, and her Venus is close to the unusual planet Uranus in Scorpio.

But she would have to have other planetary activity for a divorce or even two to occur, which she had.

His Venus is not happy in Virgo because Virgo is nitpick. Virgo wants perfection. She is the dutiful wife who serves the family. In the past, Virgo was called the servant.

However, Venus is lavish and beautiful, while Virgo is humble.

But his Virgo is at 7′ (the Libra degree), and Venus rules both Taurus and Libra. 

Therefore, people with Venus in Virgo have unrealistic expectations of their wives. 

Jeannie seemed like his perfect partner, but he has issues with women, which I will get into in subsequent sections.

The first thing I noticed is that they both have their moons in Aries.

• Arguments with mother/women
• Aggressive women

They both therefore have very similar issues and emotions towards their mothers—let’s say a complicated relationship.

🚩🚩 And as already mentioned, she has Mars conjunct (very close) to her Sun in Capricorn, which opposes his natal Mars in the opposite sign, Cancer.

But Mars hates being in Cancer see here but in short, Mars in Cancer reads as passive aggressive. But it also suggests a man who likes to spend time at home and is very private.

He will protect women but may also get into many disputes with them.

The moon symbolizes many things, but one of those things is our mother, our emotions, and women as a whole.

But for him, Mars is the focal planet in this trio.

This aspect can show domestic abuse at home. Witnessing harm to the mother, a controlling mother, aggressive women, a warrior mother, etc. 

Moreover, with Pluto speaking to the moon and Mars, he could blow the littlest things out of proportion.

Nevertheless, with his moon in Aries and Mars in Cancer, this is known as  mutual reception.

Simply put, mutual reception occurs in astrology when two planets are in each other’s signs of rulership. And his placements can show that his reactions are often in sync with his emotional state. He may act intuitively and follow his gut feelings.

Furthermore,

She may have reminded him of his mother, but not in a good way. Alternately, seeing that his sun is in Libra, he compared her to his mother.

He may clash with her mother, her family, or her mothering skills. 

One person viewed the other as emotionally immature.

Although they are very attracted to each other, he does not understand how to emotionally fulfill her, or vice versa.

Although she was impressed by his energy and confidence, and their differences created a magnetic attraction. Her sensitive, sometimes unreasonable nature may not suit his hard, balanced perspective. 

In truth, they couldn’t talk to each other freely anymore or change their core beliefs, and he didn’t value either her way of being or her mother, or her as a mother.

Transits are used to predict the timing of events seen in a person’s natal chart, but you need a few major transits to foretell a major event like a marriage or a divorce.

Pluto in Capricorn

Since Jeanine is a Capricorn, I knew she already had one major activity when Pluto retrograded back into Capricorn, as Capricorn had been in her sun sign since 2008.

Pluto had briefly left Capricorn to enter Aquarius, but in July of 2023, headed back into her sun sign.

A major change was on the way!

Aquarius and its ruler Uranus are social but foretell surprises as well as separations. Pluto is the eliminator.

The 8th House

Although I do not know their rising signs or which house transits are taking place based on their ages, I know she is in her 8th house perfect year. 

Profections are not transits but are also a predictive technique. 

Anyway, from January 2023 to January 2024, she was in an 8th house year, and he (from the end of September 2022 to end of September 2023) in the 9th house year when he filed for divorce. 

The 8th house is a place of secrets, other people’s money, endings, and intimacy. 

Other people’s money can include partners money, welfare, loans, grants, marital property, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, spousal support/alimony, child support etc.

The 9th is the house of publishing, travel, education, and foreign people, and to a lesser extent, like the 7th can deal with legal matters. 

This was the year he published a book and filed for divorce from a woman of another culture, which may have taken her by surprise. 

Upon her 45th birthday, she will enter the 9th house, and I wonder if she writes or publishes a memoir. 

She may become interested in divination, religion, and restoring her faith. But there could be some legal matters during that time. 

He enters the 10th house year when he turns 47; therefore, he will be thinking about the legacy he wants to leave behind. And he will also have more responsibilities.

Uranus Opposition= Mid-life crisis

They are both part of the same astrological generation, with natal Uranus in Scorpio. 

But he was undergoing his mid-life crisis when they got engaged in 2020. And his last exact Uranus opposition happened a few weeks after they got married, on March 27th, 2021. 

They got together fast (Uranus and seen with both having Aries moon signs). And while they got engaged, he was undergoing his Uranus opposition, and she was undergoing her Uranus opposition when he filed for divorce. 

However, it is said that you should not get married or divorced during this time, and they have done both. 

Our Uranus opposition is a time to be free, to explore our individuality, and to step into our true selves. Yes, we must take risks, but try not to do anything that binds us or ties us down to who we are not. 

Uranus opposition transit typically occurs around our late 30s to mid-40s when the planet Uranus in the sky forms an 180° opposition aspect to its natal position in our birth chart.

When transiting Uranus was in Taurus, they explored each other’s cultures and values through each other’s eyes. But they are likely to have different values and cultural beliefs that may not be compatible. 

Although Jeannie is Asian, she was born and raised in the States and is very forward-thinking and open-minded, perhaps too open-minded for a rapper.

Saturn’s Opposition and Saturn’s opposition to his natal Venus

Transiting Saturn, the taskmaster (and planet of karma), opposed his natal Venus when he filed for divorce in June 2023 (it became public in September 2023). 

Remember, Venus rules both love and money. 

And by this time, they may have both felt it was too much hard work. And this transit simply shows the end of a karmic relationship. 

Transiting Saturn opposing his natal Venus doesn’t look like he’s having fun.

He only wants to put in hard work if he is having fun, and it is no longer fun.

Similarly, she only wants to be with a man who loves what he does. But he may have realized he was not really in love like that. 

Plus, he has unrealistic exceptions for women. 

But he had already had his Saturn opposition in February 2023. This show a time he reviewed his commitments. 

I would say a few months before then, he knew the relationship was over—sometime in late 2022. 

But in the end, they had different values, beliefs, and cultures. 

She’ll have her Saturn opposition, which will happen sometime in April 2024. 

The Aries Eclipse and Nodes in Aries (their moon sign) and Libra (his sun sign)

The Aries solar eclipse on April 20, 2023, fell near his moon ( possibly a wide conjunction), which marked him putting himself before his family.

However, this eclipse saw the North Node in Taurus and the sun and moon in Aries. 

In astrology, solar eclipses symbolize fresh starts and sudden decisions. 

I wonder what happened to them from February to May 2023 that was the final nail in the coffin. 

Then both parties had a transiting North Node move into Aries, the sign of their moon. 

At the same time, the transiting South Node moved into Libra (his sun sign), suggesting a move away from a relationship in July 2023. 

Moreover, a move away from people-pleasing. 

Either way, emotions were high. 

Jeannie Mai and Jeezy’s split: what went wrong?: The Cause of their divorce?

It was not one thing.

With both their moons in Aries, they were impatient and married too soon. 

She was newly divorced. 

Those with their moon in Aries are driven in emergencies (married not long after his mother’s death and during a lockdown). 

He also has issues with women and mothers, as does she. 

He wants a large family, as seen with Jupiter in Cancer. Perhaps multiple families.

He loves relationships, but that does not mean an exclusive relationship. He is indecisive and makes rash decisions (especially in emergencies and when angry) to overcompensate. 

Jeezy has unrealistic exceptions when he is in love. 

She is quietly combative (although she said she has addressed this and is trying to change). Nevertheless, she forces other people to do what she wants, and with his chart, he pushed back. 

Living together or their living arrangements became an issue. 

They clashed over her ambitions and home and family matters. 

She had trust issues. Venus in Scorpio implies she is easily jealous but hides it well. He also has trust issues.

Based on her chart, Jeannie is not a submissive woman. lol   

Although she had said she was willing to submit (as he wanted), with her North Node in Virgo, maybe she was meant to grow into being a submissive.

Either way, they were both going through a period of self-discovery when they met. 

Their relationship was karmic. 

They were meant to be with one another, but for how long? 

In the end, they could not overcome their differences. Love was not enough because it was no longer fun for him, and he made an impulsive decision to marry her. 

Breakups are painful, but I am sure they will both find love and happiness sometime in their future.
